Books, specialised food, internet and idle

Walk out of the stage. Compulsory commercial break. The boredom plant starts creeping up the branches and the weed has to sustained for the fresh growth of fruits.

The first tryst with medico bed is awful. Especially when you are normal on day two and you have to check whether its actually back to normal for next three days. All those tubes, fluids, samples and the tailor made food. Nothing but books and no going out. But there are somethings beyond the conscious control. Waking up in the middle of a good sleep with pain is better to nothing.

Ignite the minds was the solution. Something has to be done. Resources should be exploited. Resource. The five years of sixty plus encounters with doubts of self proclaimed experts of human societal development. That was a resource. Left behind. Days are coming to flash the dust off that forgotten treasure box.

Virtual kingdom provides a lot of relaxation when you are out and free. Flicks are flowing as and when you wish. Everyone, everything is on dot com. Except what you really search for.

Its pretty nice to think of words that may convey nothing to readers and will express everything that has come to mind. Especially when you are sitting in the balcony of your super cool home close to the heart of nature. I love this place.

Its raining inside and outside

In early days when it rained, the feeling was to curse the rain which prevented from going out. The stolen recess hours of school was a dreadful memory. The evening home coming in the drenched outfit was also not good then. But on a holiday the feeling where exactly the reverse. The games in rain, the view of the paddy fields, catching crabs, fishing in the rain.. all were sweet time pass which can never return.

Now the attitude towards rain is same in all days. Its a fabulous feeling. The coolness it gives is wonderful. There was a day when two of us drove the 15km stretch of NH66 bye-pass which was then half open, fully drenched in the rain. That was awesome.

The last friday night drive also gave a great view to remember. Usually it was the scenic beauty that could be enjoyed. But this time nature poured down with full vigour in front of us leaving the roads unclear, filled with water and heavy droplets falling right on our windshield.

The beauty of rain is beyond words. Let us enjoy the monsoon.

Artocarpus heterophyllus in City of Spices

[" Artocarpus heterophyllus" is simply the scientific name of the largest tree-borne fruit, commonly known as Jack-fruit. The word "jackfruit" comes from Portuguese jaca, which in turn, is derived from the Malayalam language term, chakka. Thus this fruit bears an important connection with Keralam, the land where the Europeans arrived to trade spices. And their "City of Spices"- Kozhikode ([koːɻikːoːɖ], also known as Calicut, is the third largest city in Keralam. According to data compiled by economics research firm Indicus Analytics on residences, earnings and investments, Kozhikode is ranked as the second best city in India to reside in...]

There are many more data to be copied from wikipedia. May be not the right time and right place to do so. Its been a complete year since the old Jackfuit tree has been uprooted from the Zamorin's land to Padmanabhan's land. There the fertility of the soil was good but somehow the fruits were a few in number.

Now its time to harvest from Kozhikode. Let wikipedia say anything, but this city is in fact "City of Tastes". No one ever been here will not forget the tastes of 'Paragon', 'Topform', 'Rahmath', 'Zains',.. and so on. The halwa, chips, milk sarbath,... the real tastes of malabar.! So the jackfuit will also become tastier here. The thought was to whether harvest from the old tree or plant a new one. The decision is to go for second choice. The new tree has been planted and it will be ready for harvest soon.

But, when a new tree is planted, what should be done with the old one? Its tree. It will give fruits and shade. So let it stay there and occasionally it can also be tasted. Let more and more trees come to cool this world.

The Seventh Day

It started a week ago. The long forgotten holiday trip. It was a ride back to good old days of trekking and holidaying. Though there had been lengthier off-work periods, the thrill of moving into nature's heart had been left behind since long time.

It started with the drive into Venice of East. The beauty of Vembanattu Lake was absorbed to the heart through the view given by Thanneermukkom Bund and the taste given by 'Karimeen' fry. Then the drive proceeded through the land of Kerala Satyagraha.

The destination two was queen of Arabian Sea. The Kochi Lake View and the Urbane Ernakulam was enough for an evening out.

Again back to nature's heart to see the exquisite views of flowing water- the beauty, the power, the fascination, the enticement of Waterfalls at Athirappalli-Vazhachal through flora and fauna. A short visit to an old abode in between.

The winter journey would be incomplete without a visit to the chill of Queen of Hills across the border. The natural garden and lake view and a boat ride. Then a run to climb the beautiful hilltop and a chilling drive back to the land of Spicy Hills.

The final destination was supposed to be same land of spicy hills with a sentinel rock waterfall. But everything would not be fine without a pilgrimage at least in the end. And the journey back to a forest loving and learning centre.

The seven days. The nature known and seen.
